Paul
Franklyn Lozier, 77, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, husband of Janet,
entered into eternal rest, Friday August 23, 2024. Paul’s life was a testament
to his unwavering dedication to those he loved and the causes he championed.
Born and raised in his beloved city of Newburgh, New York to Elizabeth Passmore
Beach and Franklyn Lozier. Paul attended and graduated from Yale University in
1969 as a political science major. After graduation from Yale, Paul moved to San
Francisco for several years, but returned to the East Coast to pursue graduate
school. Paul graduated from the Harvard Business School in 1974 and embarked on
a successful banking career with Merrill Lynch on Wall Street in New York City.
Paul lived for many years in Madison, New Jersey where he raised his two
children, Sam and Danielle. He was deeply involved in his community, having
served on the local school board, the Madison library board and the board at the
Madison YMCA, plus actively participating on his children’s sports teams.
Paul was a longtime member of both Canoe Brook Country Club in Summit, New
Jersey and the Fairmount Country Club in Chatham, New Jersey. After his
retirement, Paul enjoyed golf, traveling, fishing, map collecting and reading.
He also enjoyed participating in various alumni activities at his beloved Yale
University. In his later years, Paul and Jan moved to Bainbridge Island,
Washington to be closer to family and recently relocated to Mt. Pleasant, South
Carolina, near Charleston.
Paul is survived by his wife, Janet, of Mount Pleasant, and by his son, Samuel
(Katharine) of Seattle, Washington, his daughter, Danielle (Tommy Guy) also of
Seattle, his cherished grandson, Braden Lozier, many cousins and his loyal four
legged friend, Hank. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his cousin,
John Passmore.
Paul will be remembered and celebrated at a Memorial Service at J. Henry Stuhr,
Inc. Mount Pleasant Chapel, Mathis Ferry Road, on September 12, 2024, at 12
noon. A visitation at the funeral home will begin at 11 AM, preceding the
Memorial Service. A luncheon celebration reception, to honor Paul, will
immediately follow at The Rivertowne Golf Clubhouse in Mt. Pleasant. All are
welcome. Interment will be private.
