John P. Rymaszewski was born March 21st, 1938 in Newburgh, New York. He showed his artistic ability early in life, sketching a fine ink drawing of scrooge in kindergarten. His love of horticulture was nurtured by his family, especially his grandmother. They would argue about where to place each plant in the garden! After high school in Newburgh, he studied Landscape Design at Farmingdale College. Throughout his life, his musical talents emerged, as he studied classical piano and perfected dancing, ultimately winning the 1974 polka championship at the Harvest Moon Ball. He never passed on the desert.
