John Argenio - Class of 1961

    John Neil Argenio passed away on September 18, 2024 after a short illness at Hudson Valley/Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in Peekskill, NY. He was 80 years old. John was born on October 4, 1943 in Newburgh, NY. He is the son of Arthur T. Argenio & Angelina DiDonato Argenio both from Newburgh, NY.

John was married to Sylvia T. Marchi Argenio for 50 years before her death in 2015.

John was a machinist/mechanic at Ciba-Geigy (Novartis) Pharmaceuticals for 34 years starting in 1967.

Survivors include his daughter Tracyann Argenio Tartaglia & granddaughter Gianna Theresa Tartaglia both from Westchester County, NY. His sister Susan Lee Argenio Schoonmaker & brother-in-law Mark Schoonmaker both from Montgomery, NY. His sister -in- law Millie Marchi Green & brother -in- law James M. Green both from Kissimmee, Florida.

John was a very kind, caring, loving and awesome husband, father & grandfather.

He loved to create and build things, was a huge science fiction fan, especially Star Trek & Star Wars. In his younger years loved to play tennis, bowl, swim, speed skate and shoot archery...a natural born athlete in many sports. Nothing made him happier than making his family happy. He will sadly be missed by his family and all those who knew him.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the DiDonato Funeral Service, 1290 Rt 9W Marlboro, NY 12542
