    George E. Vinson passed away peacefully on October 29, 2024, in Gaithersburg, MD. Born January 26, 1929, in Newburgh, NY, to Rebecca (Weygant) and Richard F. Vinson, he led a distinguished life proudly serving in the Army for 33 years and attaining the rank of CW4 - a military career of dedication and honor. He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Chikako Kowaki Vinson; daughters, Georjean Lipovsky (Joseph) and Patricia Woodwell (David); five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard F. Vinson, II.
George had a profound appreciation for the arts, particularly oil painting, classical music, and opera; and traveled the world to experience diverse cultures. Friends may call at De Vol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Dr., Gaithersburg, MD 20877 on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery, date and time to be announced in the future.
