Julia Blanche Harden Dula - Class of 1956

    Julia Blanche Harden-Dula was born on May 10, 1937, to the late Philip Harden and Julia Foster Harden in West Point, New York.

Julia attended the school system in Newburgh, New York graduating from Newburgh Free Academy.

Julia worked at IBM for 25 years and retired. She then worked for JCPenney catalog for over 8 years and retired. She was an entrepreneur and owned her own nail shop for several years. She was a Worthy Matron with the Twilight Chapter No. 28, Prince Hall Order Eastern Stars State of New York.

Julia loved to read, create stained glass, jewelry and flower arrangements. She loved to watch westerns and knitting.

Julia attended church and sang in the choir at Washington Street A.M.E. Zion Church, Newburgh, New York. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Lewisville, Texas, Pastor T.J. Denson. She later became a member of Covenant Community Baptist Church, The Colony, Texas, Pastor Toni Harris Sr.

Julia met Walter P. J. Dula at IBM and they married on August 15, 1986.

Julia Blanche Harden-Dula departed this life on Monday, November 4, 2024. She is survived by her children Constance R. Wilson, Eileen T. Wilson, Patricia L. Harris (Rev. Toni), June Dula, Celeste Dula, Angela Lloyd and her Sister Christine F. Mercano. Sister In-law Thomasine Harden. She has 8 grandchildren, Shamara L. Wilson (Michael), Shayla Hargrove, Erin L. Wilson, Jarrod T. Cummings, Brianna L. Harrell, Jonathan E. O’Quinn, Arica N. Harris-Davis (JP) and Toni Harris Jr (Azalia), Noel Dula, Justin Miller, Taurean Andranigian, Devin Bateman, Cana Andranigian, Ryan Funny, Tyler Funny and Jordan Calhoun . She has 22 great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Walter P.J. Dula. Her parents Philip and Julia Harden. Her brothers Philip and Wilbert Harden and her Aunt Louise Tucker.
