HelenWisner O'Donnell of Cornwall, NY passed away December 9, 2024. The daughter of Warren Wisner and Helen (Dolan) Wisner, Helen was born in Newburgh, NY on September 1, 1924.

Helen retired from the Newburgh Enlarged City School District after having taught at Montgomery Street School, New Windsor School and Meadow Hill School.

After retirement, Helen volunteered as a CCD Teacher at St. Joseph's School in New Windsor, NY. She was a member of the Altar Society of St. Thomas of Canterbury Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court Rita 264 in Cornwall.

Helen belonged to the Friends of the Cornwall Library and served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cornwall Historical Society.

Helen was predeceased by her loving husband, Frank O'Donnell. Survivors include her sister: Sister Mary Ellen Wisner, O.P.; a niece: Christina Witherell; her grandnephew: Daniel Witherell; and two grandnieces: Alexandria and Olivia Witherell.

For the last eight years, Hazel, Jocelyn, Andrea, Maryann, Lisa, Whitney, Sharon and Delfia have been Helen's caregivers. Their love and compassion for her were endless.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson St. Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 18th at St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, 340 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow the Mass at St. Thomas Cemetery in Cornwall, NY.
