Joan Marie Hutlock

February 5, 1953 ~ October 25, 2026

Joan Marie Hutlock (Glover), 73, of Newburgh, New York, died on October 25, 2026, at home surrounded by her family following a short period of sudden illness.

Born in Newburgh, New York, Joan was the daughter of James Glover and Catherine Glover (Donahue). She was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, class of 1971, and went on to build a working life marked by dedication and versatility, serving as a front desk professional, office manager, and dental assistant for Dr. Roland Emmanuele. In each role, she brought care and steadiness to her work, and her presence was appreciated by those around her.

Above all, Joan was deeply centered in her family. She shared 55 years of marriage with her husband, James S. Hutlock. She was the mother of Alexander Hutlock and mother-in-law of Kristan Martinson, and she was a beloved grandmother to Alexandria, with whom she especially cherished spending time. Her family remembers her as an amazing wife, mother, sibling, and grandmother.

Joan is also remembered by her siblings, Michael Glover and Maria of Newburgh, Margaret Glover of Newburgh, Mary Ann Glover Olympia and Scott of Newburgh, William Glover and Christine of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Joseph Glover and Ann of Fort Wayne, Indiana; by her sister-in-law, Anne Page of Maine; and by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Glover and Catherine Glover (Donahue); her brothers, James, Patrick, and Harold; and her in-laws, Steve and Elizabeth Hutlock.

Joan enjoyed reading, painting, crocheting, baking, and shopping. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter. These interests and the time she gave to others helped shape the everyday legacy she leaves behind.

She will be remembered as smart, very kind, and well-liked by all who knew her. She was compassionate, maternal, nurturing, and generous to all who were in need. Those qualities were evident in the way she lived, worked, and cared for the people around her, and they remain a lasting part of her memory.

Joan Marie Hutlock leaves behind a life defined by devotion to family, care for others, and quiet generosity. Her memory will be held closely by all who knew and loved her. A visitation will be held on November 1, 2026, from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM with a funeral service beginning at 4:30 PM at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave.
