      David R. Ibbetson a resident of Newburgh, NY entered into rest April 3, 2013 at home. The husband of Claudette Lester Ibbetson, he was retired from the City of Newburgh Police Department. He was 74. The son of the late William and Doris Rogers Ibbetson, he was born on November 1, 1938 in Walden, NY. Mr. Ibbetson served four years as a Seabee for the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Claudette at home; one son, David Ibbetson and his wife, Marie of Newburgh; two daughters, Darlene Hartling and her husband, John of Newburgh, Claudine Fox and her husband, John of Wallkill; 14 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Doris Ibbetson; three brothers: Frank, James, and William Ibbetson and a son, Raymond Ibbetson. A family statement reads: "David was an avid Mets fan and loved his scratch off lottery cards." Calling hours will be on Saturday, April 6th, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Funeral Home. A Funeral Service: will be held Saturday, April 6th at 6:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be held in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
