This is an ancedotal note about 'Bev', stemming from our common experience in performing on a WGNY radio show back in 1949, when we were both 9th Grade students in Ms. Helen Gearn's homeroom at North Junior High School. The local Girl Scouts chapter had apparently arranged to have a radio script read on the air, promoting the recruitment of very young girls into the local pre-Scouts "Brownies" activity. It was in the form of an interview by a radio personality of a Girl Scouts adminstrator. I was cast as the interlocutor and Bev was the GS administrator. We had much fun together doing this, and as all who knew her knew and knows, was a superb local speed-skating champ back in those times.
Bev and her family lived on South Street near Prospect in Newburgh, and her BFF there was her neighbor and fellow NJHS/NFA classmate, Norma Tompkins, also now on this lest and also a wonerful young woman.
