Submitted by Steven Fraas 1969 <fraasllc@me.com> on 05/Oct/2017 97.104.21.249

Dawn L.
Lind Mocko, age 89, entered into eternal rest on September 29, 2017, at Huguley
Nursing and Rehab Center in Burleson, Texas. The daughter of the late Leonard
and Elvira Lind, Dawn was born in Brooklyn, New York, where she lived the first
ten years of her life. She then moved to Newburgh, New York, where she lived
until 2015, when she moved to Burleson, Texas to be near family. She was married
to Charles C. Mocko for over sixty years. Dawn is survived by her loving
daughters, Candy and Nancy; and by Candy’s husband, Geoffrey Saari of Burleson,
Texas; and by Nancy’s husband, Michael Ward of Denver, Colorado. Dawn’s
grandchildren and great-grandchildren include Scott Ward, Chelsea, and their two
children, Cash and Dax of Denver, Colorado; Lauren and her husband, Chad Clewley,
of Charleston, South Carolina; Kyra and her husband, Grant Johnson, of Dallas,
Texas; Matt Saari of Dallas, Texas; and Jenna Saari of Denton, Texas. Dawn is
also survived by her husband’s cousin, William Mocko of Newburgh, New York; and
by her husband’s nephew, Taggart Williamson and his wife Janet and their
children, of Walden, New York. She is also survived by numerous cousins and
their families. Dawn was predeceased by her husband, Charles and his sister,
Janet Williamson. Dawn graduated from high school at Newburgh Free Academy, when
she was sixteen years old. A member of Saint George’s Episcopal Church in
Newburgh, New York, she was married there in 1947. Friends and family will
fondly remember Dawn's sense of humor, which she often used to get a laugh out
of the people who helped her, even during hard times. She had a generous heart,
and spent many hours of her time as a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital in
Newburgh, as a Girl Scout leader at St. George's Church, and as a "guardian
angel" dispatcher for the Town of Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Dawn was
always there to help her family when they needed her, and she will be sadly
missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on
Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Engel Funeral Home, Inc., 5319 Route 9W, Newburgh,
New York. Family and friends will gather after the visitation at 2:15 p.m. on
Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Cedar Hill Cemetery and Mausoleum, 5468 US-9W,
Newburgh, New York in the mausoleum for an Episcopal service officiated by
Reverend Wayne Schmidt. Friends and family may leave messages and view photos of
