Submitted by Bill Norvell 1965 <w.norvell@att.net> on 29/Nov/2021 184.90.11.39

Anastasia "Stacy" Elizabeth Barr Clark, lifelong resident of Newburgh, entered
into rest on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at her residence in Walden, NY.
Anastasia was born on February 16,1945 in Newburgh, NY; the daughter of the late
Thomas and Evelyn Barr, also of Newburgh. She was 76. Stacy graduated from
Newburgh Free Academy in 1963 and continued her career in the insurance
business. Later on, she obtained her real estate licensure and developed some of
her closest friendships which last to this day. On June 30, 1968 she married her
soul mate James E. Clark of Walden, with whom she shared a deep appreciation for
antiques, early American homes and decor. In 1969, they purchased a home in the
Gardnertown area which would be their primary homestead where they would raise
their family and remain for many years. Stacy was very active in her children’s
PTA and for many years, ran the Meadow Hill School Spring Fair which was a
popular affair. Stacy embraced the role of mother and wife, and was very
involved with day to day activities of everyone in the family. Until the time of
her passing, there were always multiple conversations daily with her sons and
daughter. These are and always will be tremendously missed. Stacy also loved the
holidays and would decorate for days in preparation for them and even helped
decorate various historic buildings in the Village of Walden. By 1995 she and
Jim were on to their next endeavor and purchased a home in Walden. Stacy enjoyed
walking the property with her dogs, shopping for fine clothing, and occasionally
meeting up with friends for karaoke. Stacy’s devotion to her family was of the
utmost importance and was always ready and willing to listen; she wasn’t opposed
to levelling an opinion, whether solicited or not. After the death of her
husband, she was never quite the same. The birth of her only grandchild, Freya,
brought tremendous happiness to her heart. Stacy will be remembered for her
candidness, kindheartedness, and strong Catholic faith. It has been said “the
bond between mothers and their children is one defined by love. As a mother’s
prayer for her children are unending, so are the wisdom, grace and strength they
provide to their children.” For her children, truer words could not have been
spoken. Stacy is survived by her son, Dr. Dane E. Clark, fiancée’ Heidi Weaver,
and their daughter Freya Clark; son Brandon J. Clark; daughter Marcee E. Curtis
and her husband John, all residing in Newburgh, NY. Her brother and sister in
law, Dennis and Mary Fran Barr from Newburgh, NY and her cousin Johnny Meyer of
Carmel, NY. Additional family include multiple nieces, nephews and cousins. -
