Hazel M Woska Masterson
- Class of '34 passed away in May of 1985 in New Windsor, NY. Hazel was married in 1941 to George V Masterson
(See below) and they had one daughter, Georgann.

Masterson,
George V. "Lanky" of New Windsor, a retired teacher and coach in the Newburgh
School District, and a lifelong resident of the area, died Tuesday, July 9, 1996
in Goshen. The son of the late Francis and Ethel Young Masterson, he was born
in Newburgh. He was the widower of Hazel Woska Masterson. He was a member of
Monsignor Henry O'Carroll Knights of Columbus, Newburgh; the New York State
Teachers Association; and the Alumni Association of the State University College
of New Paltz. He also was a delegate for the National and State Teachers,
American Federation of Teachers. Survivors include one daughter Georgann
Goulding of New Windsor; one grandson, Jeffrey Betters of New Windsor and
several nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today
at DiDonato-Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. Newburgh. A funeral Mass will
be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church, Newburgh. Burial wil be
in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Memorial contributions may be sent to the
George "Lanky" Masterson Memorial Fund, c/o Mary Kalfas, Treasurer, Newburgh
School District, 124 Grand St. Newburgh NY 12550.

Masterson was my homeroom teacher in 10th grade. I remember him to be calm,
classy...and soft-spoken...a true gentleman. He was a calming force during a
turbulent time. He'll be missed. God speed.
