Geraldine Ann Ciminaro was born March 30, 1935, to the late Dominick (Dan) and Pauline (Charleston) Abbruscato. A lifelong Newburgh resident, Geri was a "candy striper" volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital while in high school at Newburgh Free Academy. After graduating she worked as the Manager of the Credit Bureau of Orange County for many years and enjoyed her time as a member of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce. Later in her career she worked for Norman Brothers Movers and finally retired as sales rep and book keeper from MelCar Construction.

Geri was outgoing and loved to talk. She made friends wherever she went and kept them close to her heart. She loved shopping and was a fashionista! She had an outfit (or 2 or 3!) for every occasion, matching hair and makeup to perfection! At home she enjoyed painting and quilting. She also had a soft spot for the unhomed kitties of the neighborhood and kept them fed and sheltered.

Geri is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Anthony David Ciminaro, and leaves behind her beloved family, daughter Wendy Joyce McCaw, son in law Mickey Johnson, grandson Julian Eric Johnson, and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place Tuesday, February 18th at 12 o'clock, at the Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Newburgh SCATS.

The family would like to thank the staff at Emerald Peek who were so wonderful, especially Nurse Marsha and Trainer Chris who always made her smile. An additional thank you to home health nurse Amalthea Williams of Landmark for her dedication to providing the best care for her patients.  - March 30, 1935 ~ February 12, 2025
