Dorothy (Dot) Rose, 93, passed peacefully on March 2, 2025, surrounded by loving family.

Dot, as she was known for most of her life, was born June 20, 1931 in Newburgh, NY to Walter and Jennie Williams, the first of five siblings. At 19, she married the love of her life, George H. Rose, and they were very happily married for 48 years, until his death. Together, they had 3 children, 8 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.

Dot, a devout Christian, was always very involved in many Christian and community activities- from Good News Clubs for kids, Pioneer Girls, Ladies' Missionary Society, and Christian Women's Club to volunteering for and eventually running the Orange County Office of the Aging Walden Nutrition Site.

Dot and George were very caring and generous people, always ready to take in anyone who needed a place to stay, and always made them feel like "one of the family".

Dot was pre-deceased by her parents, her sisters Mary and Virginia, her beloved "Babe" George, and her long-time cherished companion, Jim Carnahan.

She is survived by her brothers Walter and Daniel, her children Charles (Rita) Rose, Janet (Matt) Xenakis, and Daniel (Jackie) Rose, her grandchildren Stephen (Candice) Xenakis, Toby (Tiffany) Yeager, Stephanie (Rich) DiLeonardo, Tabitha (Will) Deitz, Michael (Natasha) Xenakis, Shannon Rose, Sean Rose, and Victoria Rose, and by 11 great-grandchildren who love her dearly.

Her funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, March 5, at Millspaugh Funeral Home, 22 Bank St., Walden, NY Internment will follow at Wallkill Valley Cemetery, 1011 Rt. 52, Walden, NY.
