    Oliver Joseph "Griff" Griffin, formerly of Montgomery, NY was a 30 year retiree of IBM where he was a Senior Associate of Information Development, Poughkeepsie, New York. Griff passed away March 21, 2025 at Health Park Hospital in Fort Myers, Florida.

The son of the late William and Florence Griffin, he was born September 10, 1934 in Newburgh, New York. Griff was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, SUNY Orange, and earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Marist College. He served for three years in the U.S. Army Security Agency in Germany.

Griff was former Chairman of the Town of Montgomery Democratic Committee and past member of the Valley Central School Board, Orange County Jurors Association, Orange County Senior Men's Club and Election Inspector, Town of Montgomery. Griff was also a past member of the Engineering Committee, Lexington Country Club, Fort Myers, Florida.

Survivors include his wife, Nina at home, two nieces, Geralyn Cunningham Murphy and Wendy Atkins, nephews Jerry Murphy and David Murphy and numerous grand nieces and nephews. A family statement reads: Griff was a loving husband, a passionate politician, and avid fisherman, and a life long baseball fan. We will always miss Griff, especially for his quiet strength and sense of humor.

Visitation will be held form 2 to 5 pm on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Applebee McPhillips Funeral Home, Inc, 130 Highland Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, March 28, 2025 at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, 149 Cottage Street, Middletown, NY 10940. Burial will follow in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Middletown, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, Tenn.
