Arlene R. Amato, 79, of Easley, South Carolina, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, after a long illness.

Born in Newburgh, New York, she was the daughter of the late Peter J. and Grace Russo Amato.

Arlene graduated from NFA High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Music degree from SUNY Potsdam. She began her career as a music educator at South Junior High School and later at Middletown High School, where she was beloved by her students. After many years of teaching, Arlene made a career change, earning a degree in electrical technology. She became a highly sought-after software developer and eventually retired from IBM.

A gifted musician, Arlene played several instruments and had a beautiful singing voice. She was a popular performer at wedding events, often playing with bands she formed. In 2005, she moved from Poughkeepsie, NY, to Easley, where she made many friends and served as president of her HOA. Arlene was known for her outgoing personality, generosity, and willingness to help others. She had a love for computers and electronics and excelled in all her endeavors.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but we take comfort knowing she is at peace. Our hearts are heavy, but we are grateful for the memories and her lasting impact.

In addition to her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her dear nephew, Stephen Clay.
