John S. Bull - Class of 1958  of  Wallkill, NY. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Bull, not just a loving brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, but a friend to anyone who had the joy of knowing him. Early afternoon on April 9, 2025, John age 86, passed away peacefully in his sleep surrounded by loved ones. John was known for his love of boats, cars, and reading, but even more so for his quiet strength, steady presence, and the deep, unwavering love he gave so freely to those around him.

John was born on January 1, 1939 in Newburgh, NY, he was the son of the late Richard Bull and Jeanne Bull. John was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Bull. John is survived by his brother Kenneth M. Bull and his sister Jeanne B. Brundage. John will be forever cherished and remembered by his loving family: His son Richard S.W. Bull and his wife Suzanne, his daughter Evelyn (Bull) Faggio and her husband Kenneth. He was a proud grandfather to: Dr. Richard (Ricky) Bull Jr. and his wife Yuying, Ryan S. Bull, Merissa S.A. Bull and Logan Faggio. He also had the joy of spending time with his great grandchildren: Naylani, Iolana and Malakai Bull as well as his beloved companion, Patches the dog, who rarely left his side.

John served in the United States Army tank battalion from 1958 to 1962, during a pivotal era in American military history. During his time in service, he was selected as the guidon bearer for his unit – a role of great honor and respect, given to a soldier who exemplified discipline, pride and leadership. He was honorably discharged and carried his sense of duty, resilience, and integrity with him throughout his life.

John found great joy and friendship at Marlboro Yacht Club, where he spent countless days on the water and proudly served on the board for many years. John was a proud member since 1973; It was more than just a club to him – it was a second home, a place where his love for boating and laughter came to life. His presence there was marked by camaraderie, commitment, and a genuine love for the boating community. He also shared his passion professionally, working as a marine mechanic at Patsy Bay Marina.

Whether he was offering wisdom, lending a helping hand, or simply showing up without fail, John was a rock for his family. To his grandchildren, he was more than just a grandparent, he was a second father, a mentor, and a constant source of unconditional love.

In honor of Johns' wishes respectfully, a closed service will be held for his immediate loved ones. He will be laid to rest with military honors, in recognition of his service and dedication to his country. John touched countless lives and left a lasting impact on everyone he loved. If you have a memory that you would like to share with the family, they encourage you to do so in honor of his life and legacy. - January 1, 1939 - April 9, 2025
