Salvatore Carfora - Class of 1981

Salvatore Carfora - Class of 1981 - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Salvatore E. Carfora III, on March 22, 2025. Sal was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was born on September 4, 1963.
Sal dedicated his life to his wife Karen of 40 years, his children, Kristi-Lynn, Salvatore IV, Kimberly, and Samantha. He deeply loved his grandchildren, Anthony, Dominic, Isabella, Arabella, Francesca, Salvatore V, Waylon, Mariah Grace, and Vince. He will be deeply missed by his sister, Lisa. He is also survived by his Aunt Valerie, many cousins, many nieces and nephews, and many other family members. He is predeceased by his parents Salvatore Carfora Jr., and Geraldine (Geri) Carfora, his brother Lee H. Cone, his sister Carole Vradenburg, grandparents Salvatore Carfora Sr. and Agatha Carfora, and Edward Vesely and Genevieve Vesely-Ahern.
Sal was a passionate deep-sea fisherman spending many years out on the water where he thrived as a Captain and Chief engineer.
Sal leaves behind a legacy of love and humor. A proud graduate of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Newburgh, NY, where his faith shaped many parts of his life, and Newburgh Free Academy.
A private service will be held for Sal. Anyone wishing to have a mass said for Sal, or to make a donation to the Food Pantry, please contact St. Mary’s St. Andrew’s Church, 139 South Main St., Ellenville, NY 12428 at (845) 647-6080, or a Catholic Church of your choice.
