    Edward James Needham Sr., affectionately known as Ed or Jimmy passed away peacefully on May 9, 2025 in Poughkeepsie NY. Born on August 31, 1951, in Newburgh NY. Ed was the cherished son of the late William L. Needham and Jean W. Needham.

Ed was a devoted family man. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Denise and his children Edward(Wes) J. Needham, Charles(Chip) Needham, Sabrina Tompkins, Heather R. Richardson, Krista Needham, son in law Ryan, son in law Sean, as well as his daughter-in-law Valerie. He was predeceased by his brother William E. Needham. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharen Pacenza and Doreen LaFranca and his many nieces and nephews that held a special place in his heart.

Though his life was marked by countless memories and stories, perhaps his proudest moments came with the honor of being a grandfather to his beloved grandchildren, Ryan Tompkins-fondly called "Lil Guy" and his cherished "Irish Princess" Claire Needham. His love for them was boundless and brought immense joy to his life.

He will be remembered as a man who never missed an opportunity to bring a smile to someone's day. Ed's playful spirit and humorous outlook made any occasion memorable.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ed's life at a memorial service at the Grace United Methodist Church, 468 Broadway, Newburgh NY on June 2, 2025 at 4 pm.
