Robert Joseph Santiago - Class of 2003

Robert Joseph Santiago, known affectionately as Rob, passed away on June 5, 2025, at the age of 40, at St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh, New York.
Born on January 18, 1985, in New York, New York, he was the son of Helson and Anna Santiago.
Robert grew up in Elmhurst, Queens before moving to Newburgh, NY in 2000 when he was 14. Rob was a graduate of NFA High School in Newburgh, NY, and then joined the Air Force.
Rob grew into a respected and skilled construction worker, specializing in concrete and carpentry. He was a proud member of the local Carpenter's union. Prior to his illness, he had been employed by A1 No Nonsense Pest Control.
He leaves behind his grieving parents, Helson and Anna Santiago, who cherished him deeply. Rob was a beloved brother to Nelson Santiago and his spouse Carey of Kannapolis, NC, and sister Katiria Santiago of Puerto Rico. His grandfather Jose A. Santiago Sr., along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, and his niece Yamila Santiago and her husband Ricardo Asto, also survive him.
Rob was predeceased by his grandmothers, Eufemia Santiago & Candida Santiago; grandfather David Jablon; uncle Ricardo Omar Santiago; aunt Natividad Lopez; and his cherished dog, Bo Jackson Santiago.
Rob's life was enriched by numerous friends and neighbors whose lives he touched. He will be remembered for his robust spirit, his dedication to his craft, and his ability to bring joy to those around him. His family and friends will miss him profoundly.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 4pm
- 7pm at Brooks Home, 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh, NY.
Robert's family would like to give a very special thank you to the staff at St. Luke's hospital that took such wonderful care for Robert during his final weeks of his life. We will forever be grateful for your kindness and professionalism.
