  Theresa Scalzo, of Newburgh, New York, passed away on June 29, 2025.

She was born on June 27, 1966, in Newburgh to Faith Gallipoli and Daniel Drennen.

On May 16, 1992, Theresa married Bret Scalzo in Newburgh. Together they built a life rooted in love and family. She found immense joy in being "Nona" to her beloved grandson, Thomas Patrello of Milton, NY.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Bret Scalzo of Newburgh; her daughter, Taylor Patrello and son-in-law Tom Patrello of Milton; and her cherished grandson, Thomas. She is also survived by her mother, Faith Gallipoli and stepfather Vincent Gallipoli of Middletown; her father, Daniel Drennen and stepmother Kathy Drennen of Sun City, AZ; and her brother Dan Drennen and his partner Laura Davidson of Modena. Her extended family includes nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many cousins, and dear friends including Christine Meyer and Sandy Giordano.

A special thanks to Peggy Scalzo for all of her help with Theresa's care over the last few months.

Theresa had a deep love for animals of all kinds and was known for her incredible cooking, which her sauce was legendary among those lucky enough to enjoy it. She found peace near the ocean and treasured any opportunity to be close to the beach.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday July 5th from 1:00pm-4:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations made in Theresa's memory to Hudson Valley SPCA.
