Ronald William Borst, 66, of Poughkeepsie, died on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at home with his family by his side.

Born, January 27, 1959 in Newburgh, was the son of the late Myron H. Borst Jr. and Gladys Ferrara Borst. After graduating high school in 1977, Ronald went on to work for I.B.M. as a customer service Rep. for many years, becoming a member of the I.B.M. quarter century club. On June 1, 1985 in Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church in Poughkeepsie, he married the former Laura Recchia. Mrs. Borst survives at home. In his free time, Ron had a passion for assembling computer systems and diving into how things worked, collecting model trains, going to garage sales or tinkering around the house. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, going away on vacations, camping or just having everyone around the house. Along with his wife, Ron is survived by his daughters Rebecca Kaiser and husband Chris of Wallkill; and Stephanie Borst and fiance Joseph Coppola of Poughkeepsie. His one grandson is Mason Kaiser. He is also survived by his brother Glenn Borst and wife Eliza of Newburgh, as well as many close friends and extended family. Calling hours will be from 4PM to 7PM, on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Rd. Hyde Park, NY 12538. A Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Friday, July 25, 2025, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
