    Dara Rachel Girsch Sommerfeldt, of Anderson, South Carolina born on February 9,1987, in Newburgh, NY, passed away August 14, 2024.

An avid animal lover, she was known as a kind and caring person who enriched the lives and businesses of those she was associated with. Dara lived in Belton, South Carolina.  She graduated from Suny Oswego and Santa Fe College with joint degrees in Zoology and Zoo Technology.

She was taken too soon from this world.

She is leaving behind a husband that she adored, Scott Sommerfeldt of Belton, SC, her animals, her mother, Lee Girsch of New Windsor, NY, her brother, Jeremy Girsch (Caitlin) of Rocky Mount, VA, nephews, Noah & Grayson of Rocky Mount, VA. She is also survived by her uncle and aunt, Alan & Karen Reznik of Wappingers Falls NY, her cousin, Justin Reznik of Arizona, and her extensive Sommerfeldt family.
