Betty Jackson Presutti - Class of 1948

Elizabeth (Betty) Presutti entered into rest on October 16, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 4, 1931, she was the daughter of Colin and Ethel Jackson. Betty was predeceased by her husband Joseph. Betty was a lifelong resident of the Newburgh area.
Upon graduation from NFA in 1948 she was employed as a telephone operator in the city of Newburgh.
She often jokingly referred to herself as a "call girl". After turning down a supervisory position, she worked as a receptionist at Cornwall Hospital.
Betty had a strong sense of family and loved unconditionally. In addition to life skills, she also taught her children to love one another and always maintain the bond she cultivated.
Betty was an avid reader and loved doing jigsaw puzzles and word searches and especially Snoop Dogg. Betty enjoyed watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
She had a quick wit and was never at a loss for words. Betty was loving, outspoken, independent, sassy and spirited.
Betty is survived by her daughter Donna and her husband Steve, Joseph and his wife Lynne, Jim and his wife Tammy, John and his wife Tammy, Jay and his wife Laurie. Betty had nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Our mom received wonderful compassionate care from our Hospice Team Celeste, Carlie, Amanda, Sarah and Laura. In lieu of flowers we wish to have donations made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan counties Inc. 800 Stony Brook Court, Newburgh, NY 12551.
A visitation will be held on Monday, October 20th from 4:00pm-7:00pm at Brooks Funeral Home located at 481 Gidney Avenue, Newburgh, NY 12550.
A Mass of the Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church at 10:00am on Tuesday, October 21st located at 301 Ann St, Newburgh, NY 12550
A burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery located at 304 Walsh Ave, New Windsor, NY 12553.
