Thomas Drennen - Class of 1958

      Thomas "Tom" Drennen, 85, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, in Newburgh, New York.

Born on July 19, 1940, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tom later moved to Newburgh, where he graduated from Newburgh Free Academy as part of the Class of 1958. He went on to serve his country with honor as a member of the U.S. Navy Seabee's as a 2nd Class Petty officer with MCB7 and remained active in veterans' affairs through his membership with The New Windsor American Legion Post 1796.

Tom had a life long passion for traveling and deep sea fishing with his many great friends. Whether casting a line or sharing stories from past trips, he cherished the peace and adventure that came with time on the water. Above all else, he cherished time spent with his family.


He is lovingly remembered by his daughters Tina McDonald and her husband Kevin, and Sheryl Roy and her husband Joseph; grandchildren Joseph Roy Jr. and Jillian Roy and her partner Kyle Lindsell; and his brothers John "Jack" Drennen and Phyllis, James "Butch" Coleman and Jennie, James "Jim" Drennen and Mary, William "Bill" Drennen, Daniel "Dan" Drennen and Kathy, and Joseph "Joe" Drennen and Sylvia. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and dear friends who held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his former wife and friend Irene.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents John and Elizabeth Drennen; siblings George, Edward, Robert, and Anne; sister-in-law Sally; nephews Jackie and Jeffrey; and niece Theresa.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
