Ethel "Honey" Ann Davis Kingery  - Class of 1951 of New Windsor, NY passed away peacefully in her childhood home on January 14, 2026, surrounded by her loving family €” just one day shy of her 93rd birthday.
Honey was born on January 15, 1933 in Newburgh, NY to Frank and Ethel Davis. With her passing, the family€™s sibling generation comes to a close. She attended the Bethlehem one-room Schoolhouse, St. Mary's Elementary School, Newburgh Free Academy, and graduated from Cornwall Central High School.
She was a devoted stay-at-home mother for many years before beginning her career at Marriott Hot Shops. She later worked in the Washingtonville High School cafeteria and eventually finished her career at Star Expansion, where she met her loving husband of 41 years, Tommy Kingery. The Kingerys were long-time members of St. Joseph's Church and were always ready to lend a hand. Honey volunteered at countless parish events and never missed a Penny Social or a night of Bingo.
Honey's world was full of color, kindness, and creativity. She was especially proud of her garden, a visit to her home often began or ended with a stroll among her flowers. At Christmas, she looked forward to welcoming family and friends so they could see her perfectly decorated tree, adorned with antique handmade ornaments she and family members lovingly made or collected throughout the years. She also shared her creative talents as an active member of two local quilting guilds, winning numerous prizes and accolades for her hand-stitched quilts. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, needlework, and taking her creations to Hudson Valley craft fairs for many years. For over 40 years, Honey celebrated her birthday as one of the January Girls, a cherished tradition made even sweeter when her granddaughter , her birthday twin joined the circle 35 years ago.
She was a foodie at heart who loved cooking and enjoying meals with loved ones, especially a juicy rare steak and vegetables from her and her husband's sprawling garden. Other things that brought her joy included vacationing at the beach, crabbing on the New Jersey bay with her grandchildren, cheering on the New York Yankees with her beloved dog Barney on her lap, and eating Hagen-Dazs ice cream on a stick.
Honey is survived by her children, Debra Sherwood, Glenn Dominick, and Scott (Jen) Dominick; her daughter-in-law, Patricia Dominick; her stepchildren, Kim Brown and Serge (Diane) Kingery; and her dear childhood friend and sister-in-law, Joyce Davis. She was the proud and joyful grandmother of 20 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-granddaughter. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Honey was welcomed home by her beloved husband, Tommy Kingery; her son, Robert Dominick; her stepson, Thad Kingery; her parents, Frank and Ethel Davis; her adored sister, Marilyn Davis; and her brothers, John, Frank, Raymond, and Charles Davis a joyful reunion we imagine with full hearts. Until we meet again- bye, my love!
A memorial service at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Goshen, NY will take place in the Spring.
