Roy Radford - Class of 1986

  Roy Radford, 57, passed away on February 11, 2026, in Middletown, New York. Born on July 20, 1968, in Newburgh, New York, Roy lived a life marked by dedication to his work, unwavering loyalty to his friends and a deep commitment to helping others.

A proud graduate of Newburgh Free Academy's Class of 1986, Roy went on to build a successful career with Verizon, where he worked for 27 years. His professional life was characterized by reliability and perseverance, qualities that also defined his personal relationships and community involvement.

Roy was known for his generous spirit and compassionate heart. He was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back without hesitation. His kindness extended far beyond words; he actively supported numerous organizations including the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), Gamblers Anonymous (GA), Jewish Family Services, and Meals on Wheels. Through these efforts, Roy touched many lives and made a lasting impact in his community.

A devoted fan of the Mets and Jets, Roy followed his teams with passion and loyalty. Whether celebrating a rare win or enduring a tough loss, he remained steadfast in his support—a reflection of the same loyalty he showed to those around him.

Roy is lovingly remembered by his sister Mary Radford and her partner Paul Thomas; his brother Joseph Radford and sister-in-law Jennifer Radford; as well as his nieces Mackenzie and Addison and nephew Connor, and countless friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Angela Radford.

May Roy's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to inspire acts of kindness in the world he leaves behind. A Viewing will be held on February 17, 2026, from 04:00 PM to 07:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home 481 Gidney Avenue and Funeral Services at Brooks on Wednesday February 18th at 11:00 followed by burial at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
