Martin Sheffield - Class of 1968

     Martin Sheffield, of New Windsor, NY entered into rest on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. He was 75. Son of the late Loren and Rose (Wolpe) Sheffield, he was born April 15, 1950 in Newburgh, NY.

A lifelong area resident, Martin was a retired Principal with the Clarkstown School District at the Felix Festa Middle School. Earlier in his career as an educator he also worked for Wallkill School District, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District, and the Cornwall School District. He was a volunteer for the Deacon Jack Seymour Food Pantry, a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Greater Newburgh and for many years the YMCA of Newburgh. He took great pride in his home, yard and pool. For 45 years he enjoyed family vacations at the Jersey Shore and for many years he spent football seasons tailgating at West Point and went on winter getaways with friends. He loved his trip with his sons and grandsons to Glacier National Park in Montana, hiking, and spending time with family especially during the holidays. He was an avid fan of the Mets and the Giants.

Survivors include his wife Mary Pat for almost 50 years; three sons, Matthew Sheffield of Hawthorne, NJ, Paul (Nicole) Sheffield of New York, NY and Kevin (Jessica) Sheffield of New Windsor, NY; one brother, David (Terry) Sheffield of Jacksonville, FL; one sister, Donna (Elliot) Finkelstein of Kingman, AZ; four grandsons, Liam, Adam, Landon and Collin; loving in laws; many nieces and nephews and was enriched by life long friends who felt like family and whose support meant so much.

Private Cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.

Memorial Visitation will be Tuesday, March 3, 2026 from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm at the White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.

A Funeral Home Service will follow at 12:30 pm.

Martin Sheffield - Class of 1968 classmate, Martin Sheffield passed away 2/24/2026. He was a great guy, and will be missed by many.
