Regina Friedle James - Class of 1972
Daughter of the late George R. and Hilda M. (Carlstrom) Friedle, she was born December 4, 1954 in Newburgh, NY.
A lifelong area resident "Gina" as she was known by family and friends was a retired bookkeeper for Orange County Ironworks LLC. She was an artist of many mediums including painting, sculpture/ceramics, textiles, landscaping, and flavor. She enjoyed her roles as head of household, loving wife, super mom, "Grandma Dames", animal lover, and was fiercely independent all her life.
Survivors include a son, Garrett J. James of Maybrook, NY; a daughter, Shannon H. (Kristian Gilmore) James of Highland, NY; a brother, George D. Friedle of Newburgh, NY; one grandchild, her "L'il Darlin" Evelyn Gilmore; a daughter in law, Julia (James) Poplawski of Washingtonville and numerous family and friends.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph A. James in 2023, a son, Joseph D. James, and two brothers, Philip and Richard Friedle.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY 12550.
