Edward Mills - Class of 1955

    Edward "Eddie" Mills Jr, 89, of Newburgh, NY passed away suddenly at home. He was born on April 21, 1937, in Wehawkan, NJ, the son of Edward "Jack" and Charlotte (Hetfield) Mills. Ed married Blanche Mackey on May 28, 1989, at the Spruce Lodge, Montgomery, NY. She predeceased him on April 25, 1995. Ed graduated from NFA in Newburgh. He was employed by AGL Welding as a delivery truck driver.

He was a member of the Balmville Grange and a lifelong volunteer with the Middle Hope Fire Department and having held the position of president. He volunteered at the former Middle Hope Fire Company fairs as well as selling Christmas trees at Mary Jane's Ice Cream stand.

Survivors include his brother: John (Anne) Mills of Newburgh. His nieces: Sharlene (Mark) Ricco of Newburgh and Donna Lewis of Wallkill. A grand nephew: Sean (Shannon) Moul of Newburgh and a grand niece: Rachel (Darrell) Cary of Walden. His stepdaughters: Nancy Sarli, Alene Hogge, Tracy (Dominick) Diviestri and Kelley (Richard) Weed and step grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife and parents.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, June 3, from 10am - 12pm followed by a service at DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro, NY. Burial will follow in the family plot in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newburgh.


In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the
Middle Hope Fire Company.
