Submitted by Fran Olson Gustafson - 1965 <fgustafson917@gmail.com> on 06/Jul/2026 71.223.86.39

Andrew C. "Butch" Masiero, Jr., passed away peacefully in Newburgh, New York,
on July 5, 2026, at the age of 77.
Born December 16, 1949 in Newburgh,
NY, Butch was the firstborn child of the late Andrew C. Masiero, Sr. and Helen
Masiero. He grew up alongside his siblings, Darlene, Doug, and Louie. He
attended Saint Francis of Assisi School in Newburgh before graduating from
Newburgh Free Academy.
Butch was predeceased by his beloved wife and
longtime sweetheart, Karen, whose love and partnership remained one of the
greatest joys of his life.
He is survived by his son, Anthony Masiero,
daughter-in-law Lizzy, and his grandchildren, who reside in North Carolina. He
also leaves behind his siblings, and extended family.
A familiar face in
the New Windsor community, Butch spent several years bartending at the Minute
Man Tavern. He later fulfilled his dream of owning his own business by opening
the Stop Light Bar & Restaurant in the Five Corners section of New Windsor. Over
the years, the Stop Light became much more than a neighborhood bar and
restaurant. It was a gathering place where friends became family, stories were
shared, and lasting memories were made. Butch took great pride in serving his
community and welcoming everyone through the door.
Family and friends are
invited to celebrate Butch's life on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to
7:00 p.m. at Brooks Funeral Home with a service taking place at 6:30. A private
burial will take place at a later date. - December 16, 1949 ~ July 5, 2026
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Butch's memory to the
American Cancer Society or the Humane Society of Walden.
