    Jodi "Mimi" Conklin, 60, of New Windsor, New York, died on August 22, 2026, in Newburgh.

Born on January 10, 1966, in Newburgh, Jodi spent her life rooted in the community she knew and loved; forming lasting connections through her work, church, and personal life and leaving a lasting impression on those around her. She will most fondly be remembered by her role as "Mimi" to everyone, a name she was proud to embrace and that reflected the love and closeness that so many felt with her.

Throughout her professional life, Jodi made many lifelong friends. From her early years in the New Windsor Volunteer Ambulance Corps, to her many years working in the New Windsor PX, or her 18 years as an office administrator at CAMO Pollution Control, Inc., she developed many treasured relationships that were an important part of her life.

Her faith and church life were a deeply important part of who she was. Attending Grace United Methodist since childhood, and later bringing her children and grandchildren, Jodi eventually volunteered her time as church treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed organizing and taking part in chili cook-offs, pancake breakfasts, spaghetti dinners, and penny socials. Through the years, she remained devoted to the church and the friends she made there.

Jodi was a loving, warm and kind person that could always be relied on as a welcoming source of comfort. She could make people laugh so hard it hurt, and make anyone feel at ease. She never stayed mad long and would give anything to make someone else happy. She was described as silly, bright, strong, capable and easy to talk to. She always showed up, listened and brought comfort and joy by her presence alone. Her life was closely woven into the lives of those she loved; and through the bonds she made and simple acts of care, she created a legacy of laughter, generosity, and dependable love.

Jodi is survived by her children, David Conklin and wife, Sharon; Daniel Lewis; Amanda Rodriguez and husband, Stephen; and Tami Rodriguez and significant other, Bryant; grandchildren, Stephen, Izabella, and Grace; sisters, Brenda Conklin; Noreen Carter; Ethel Welsh and husband, Gregory; and Edith Smith and husband, Timothy; brother, John Barley III; nieces and nephews, Louis Lapaitra III, Christopher Lapaitra, Brittany "Breeze" Lapaitra, Kristi Lapaitra, and many others; as well as many cousins who meant so much to her.

She was predeceased by her best friend and mother, Shirley Conklin; her father, William Conklin; her biological father, John Barley; her sisters, Wendy Jo Conklin and Baby Girl Conklin; and her niece, Adrienne Lapaitra.

Jodi's memory will remain cherished by all those fortunate enough to be a part of her life. A Viewing will be held from 1-5PM on August 29, 2026, at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave. If sending any flowers, send directly to the funeral home for day of Viewing. Please bring any favorite photos you would like displayed at the viewing. A Committal will be held at 11 AM on September 5, 2026, at Woodlawn Cemetery, 93 Union Ave. Family and friends will gather at the main entrance of the cemetery before proceeding together to the gravesite.
