Joseph Ronsini - Class of 1948

   Joseph C. Ronsini, Sr., of Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY entered into eternal rest on August 24, 2026 at his home. He was 95 years old.

The son of the late Alfonso Ronsini and Mary (D'Addio) Ronsini, Joseph was born on October 8, 1930 in Newburgh, NY.

Joseph was a retired Deputy Superintendent for the NY State Department of Corrections in Fishkill, NY.

Joseph honorably and proudly served his country as a member of the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

A family statement reads: "Dad often said 'I've had a good life'. Joe, a beloved husband, father, friend, and longtime member of the Cornwall community, passed away at home. He was married to his devoted wife, Joan Ronsini, for 72 years, sharing a lifetime filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories.

Joe was an outstanding athlete throughout high school at Newburgh Free Academy and college at Ohio Northern University, and his love of sports remained an important part of his life. For many years, he proudly served as a vice president and coach for the Cornwall Little League, where he enjoyed helping young athletes learn the game and, just as importantly, the value of teamwork and sportsmanship.

Joe found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He loved working in his yard and looked forward to family vacations in Rhode Island. He enjoyed visiting casinos, all-you-can-eat buffets, and, of course, pizza every Friday night.

Following a massive heart attack in 1987, Joe became an avid walker. Walking became a daily part of his life, and he could be seen throughout Cornwall in all kinds of weather. He would walk as many as 10 miles a day, becoming a familiar and cherished sight around town.

Joe will perhaps be best remembered for his generosity, his friendliness, and his unmistakable wise-guy sense of humor. He had a way of making people smile and never seemed to meet a stranger. He loved being outside and spent many hours sitting outdoors, waving to people as they passed by. His neighbors will especially miss those friendly waves, his warm smile, and his familiar presence.

Joe leaves behind a lifetime of memories and the love of a family who was so fortunate to have him. He will be deeply missed by his family, his friends, his neighbors, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
His kindness, humor, determination, and welcoming smile will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. .

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife: Joan B. (MacArthur) Ronsini; by his daughters: Nancy Ronsini and Debbie Ronsini; and by his sons: Joseph C. Ronsini, Jr. and William Ronsini.

A private Chapel Service for immediate family only will be held on Saturday, August 29th at Quigley-Sullivan Funeral Home, Inc., 337 Hudson Street, Cornwall-On-Hudson, NY. Interment will follow the Service at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor, NY.
