    Gladys Grogan Porter, 80, of Fishkill, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 8,2026. Born June 11, 1946, in Cornwall, NY to Roy and Dorthy Grogan. She grew up in Newburgh, NY. Gladys enjoyed playing softball, skiing and riding her motorcycle and later in life was very active in her community in both senior groups and book clubs.

She enjoyed cooking for her family and passing on great family recipes to her grandchildren. She loved outings with her family and friends. If you invited her, she was there.

She worked as a commercial insurance agent for Emery & Webb until her retirement 15 years ago.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend. Those who knew her will remember her sense of humor and how she always thought of others first.

Gladys is survived by her children, her son Shawn Thom and his wife Donna and Daughter Shannon Calvelli and her husband Sean, and her Grandchildren: Kylie, Austin and Jason Thom and Grace Calvelli, and Marissa and Hanna Watroba. She is also survived by her Brother Michael Grogan and sister-in-law Benva Grogan and multiple loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Robert Thom and her second husband George Elvin Porter. - June 11, 1946 ~ October 8, 2026

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 17th from 2:00pm-5:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 4:30pm at Brooks Funeral Home.
