WTF

Bill Norvell 1965 & Karen (Craig) Norvell 1966

Hey ~ It's me Bill ! We now live in Ormond by the Sea. On a barrier Island, next to Daytona Beach Florida... Our home is right on the water of the intercoastal waterway and one block from the ocean. We also have a oceanfront Condo 4 miles from our house.... Been here over 30 years and love it...
Right out of HS in 1965 a bunch of us got drafted in 1965... Seven of us were at Peppy's Bar and someone said why don't we go down to the Post Office and join the Marines in the buddy system...... We have to go anyway......  All seven did just that... Not a real smart idea.. Macky McNamara 64, Terry Maguire 64, Danny Clarino 64, Bobby Gilllespie 65, Frank Domenicucci 64, Dana Marazzito 64, and Bill N 65, my sorry ass .....
After getting out of the Marines in 1968 I started with the Town of Newburgh PD.... Got Married to Karen (Craig 66) in 1968... I bought a few houses and built a few houses in the T/Newburgh. Rented them all out while a cop.. After retiring from the PD as a Sgt... Karen & I went to Orange County BOCE, learned how to drive a semi and got our licences.. We then ordered a new Peterbilt truck and a stainless Great Dane trailer....    We took off and trucked all over the country as independent truckers.... Compaired to being a cop it felt like we were Bonnie & Clyde ...
After just turning 49 I pulled the plug, retired and moved to Florida...   My sister Ruthie (Norvell) Donato Cl-1962 passed away at the age of 39. That was my biggest reason for me retiring so early.... I said I'd rather retire to early then to late... Karen missed the road so we bought another new long nose 379 Peterbilt... Had a new horse trailer built, added a custom living qtrs installed with a garage for a Harley and Karen's Big Dog Chopper MC... This time for shits and giggles..

We went out west a lot and 10 trips to Sturgis SD for the bike rallys, DC for Rolling Thunder, Big Truck shows, California, Texas, and even the State of Washington....... Also after retiring I built and maintain the NFA Yearbook site... https://www.nfayearbooks.com/ Plus the NFA Memorial website.... https://www.nfayearbooks.com/mboard3/memorial_framset.html That has kept me connected to a lot of my classmates and alumni from Newburgh.
Now every morning for many many years in the dark at 5:30am, I feed breakfast to over 35 feral kitties... If you ever had a hungry cat in the morning... Picture well over 35 in 3 colonys at my feet out here on the island... We are Chewy's https://www.chewy.com/ best customer.... Guess it's no secret I like Kitties... We still ride our motorcycles around town and enjoy the ocean and weather... The bikinis aren't bad either... Karen & I have been married now for over 57 years... I deserve a medal.... We are both vegetarians and trying to enjoy the rest of our lives here in paradise.... That sure was a quick 60 years since NFA....
If you have not signed the guestbook please do... Have fun with it.... There is a direction link at top.... Makes for interesting reading now that most of us are older then dirt.... I know I enjoy hearing what everyone did since leaving NFA... Remember if ya mess up we can always fix it.....  Stay Safe
