I have been married Jill for 45 years. When I was asked recently how this
happened, I replied " Hey, it's not my fault! Jill does not believe in divorce;
however, she has no problem with believe murder! Lol! Jill, was a Physical
Therapist Assistant for 30+ years. She and I retired in 2021. She joyfully
spends her days, seeing our granddaughter, and making our house a home. Me? Like
Fred Sandford in "Sanford and Son", I just stay out of the way! After all, I
might get asked to do something! Lol!
We have three children, Joel (age
43, the bassist in the US Army Concert band in Washington D.C., our eldest
daughter, Anna, who lives 3 miles from us and who is a jazz singer, model and
entrepreneur. She owns a European boutique here in Oakmont, "Urbanna". After
living in North Central Pa (Canton) for 32 years, we moved to Pittsburgh in 2021
in order to be near our daughter Anna, her husband Nick and now our
granddaughter, Sofia, who just turned one years old. What a little baby
sweetheart! Our youngest, Lara, is a violinist, who lives in Maine with our
grandson Desman. He is an "all boy" ten-year-old. He even won the school
district chess tournament. He is and always will be his pop-pops buddy. I was a
professional musician for many years until 2018, when my progressive
neurological disease, took my ability to either fret a guitar, finger pick, or
grip a pick.. My side man wok allowed me to play on many records, which were all
performed live or radio and television. After reviewing the television spots, I
now know what my mother meant when she said that I "had a face for radio!" LOL!
I recorded and produced my own CD, "Pieces of My Heart", a solo jazz guitar
album. I was told by the distributor, that my album actually went ZINK (lol!)
and that one of the Amazon 5-star raters gave the endorsement that my CD makes a
great coaster for drinks. I have been studying the Renaissance lute and guitar
since 2018 due to the progression of my disease; I love these instruments and
the study of the musical period and the culture from which they arose. This
music is starkly beautiful, requiring an angelic touch and on the strings. The
lute is a very consoling instrument. I have had the wonderful privilege playing
for patients in the palliative care units of hospitals, people on the doorstep
of entering the Prescence of the Holy One. I have two degrees (BA Music, A.A.S.
in Business Accounting, many law courses and the courses necessary to allow me
to receive a "Librarian Certificate" This certificate allowed me to run the
little library in our old home town, the Green Free Library in Canton, Pa. I
love books.. "Kindles" and "Nooks, not so much. I love the feel of a book, the
print, even the smell. I also love research. I have heled many students in the
area of answers and annotation. Study, with wonder is everything to me. I
wish you all well, and pray for Jesus, the Lord of Heaven and earth, to watch
over you, until we can meet again.
Love, Alfonse
