you were wrong. He was a wonderful husband, an outstanding father and an

Division, Daytona Beach Criminal Investigation Division, and presently

Sgt. Michael Miller had a philosophy he kept posted in his office at the
Daytona Beach Police Department: "Lead, follow, or get the hell out of my
way," it read. It wasn't original to Miller, of course, but it said
volumes about the no-nonsense way he approached his job — and to a lesser
extent his life. "He liked everybody," said his wife, Tracy Miller, also a
sergeant on the force. "But he didn't respect you unless you had a spine
and stood up for what you believed in. " Michael "Mike" Miller, 40, died
suddenly at his Orange City home on Tuesday.
Daytona Beach Police Dept : A longtime Daytona Beach police sergeant died
Tuesday at home, the department announced today. Sgt. Michael Miller, 40,
a Hodgkin's Lymphoma survivor, apparently had a massive heart attack,
police Chief Mike Chitwood said. "He loved working the street," Chitwood
said. "He was great as a teacher and a mentor. He stood by them [his
officers] when they went through losses in their families." Miller started
working for the department in January 1993. His wife, Tracy Miller, also
is a police sergeant.

Pearson, Tisha Jaenne was a blessing to all she encountered. At 41 years
old, she is gone far too soon. And yet, her living has left unforgettable
impressions. Born in Newburgh, NY on January 12,1970, Tisha was raised in
this Mid-Hudson Valley city where she attended the public schools,
graduating from Newburgh Free Academy in 1988. She earned post graduate
credits from Marist College before venturing out into the world of work.
Tisha recalled having to leave a job as a collection bureau
representative. She just didn't have "the heart" to make those dreaded
calls to people who "could have been my mother or grandmother" she
explained with sincerity. No, she was much better suited for environments
where she could demonstrate her compassion. And so, for more than 15
years, she served in the health field, at a pediatrician, physical therapy
and other local health offices as a Medical Administrator. Patience and
sensitivity were also perfect prerequisites for the role Tisha cherished
most: Motherhood. Even in those challenging final days her focus was on
her children. Despite the increasing physical discomfort and frustration
from not being able to easily express herself, she managed to say she
wanted "more time" to be certain her children would be okay. In that
light, Tisha began her stay at Hospice with a very positive perspective:
She was determined to return home some day. Her upbeat attitude actually
helped ease the heavy hearts of her regular visitors. Tisha joined in and
often initiated much of the laughter and light-hearted chatter in those
early days. And true to form, she put aside her own considerable concerns
to hear other people's issues and offer encouragement and sage advice. A
major high point during her Hospice stay was Tisha's bedside Baptism. With
her genuine sweet nature and selfless spirit she was perfectly prepared to
be a child of God. By accepting the Lord as her Savior through the formal
Baptism ceremony, Tisha was left comforted and at peace. After a
courageous battle, Tisha Jaenne Pearson left her worldly cares behind on
Monday, December 5, 2011. Because Tisha was so instantly likeable, being
in her presence left you enriched and improved. She would want her passing
to be a reminder to value and live each minute, each hour, each day, with
caring and the utmost gratitude. With Tisha's passing, Heaven has
reclaimed an angel to reunite with loved ones who went before her: Her
parents, John and Clarisse Pearson; grandparents, Edward and Montez
Pearson; great aunt, Viola McKenzie; aunts, Gloria Pearson and Naomi Ware,
and uncle, Jack Ware. Remaining to cherish her memory and fulfill her
dreams are her children: Taishai, John, Tevin and Andrea; her fiercely
devoted and protective baby sister, Trenda Pearson (Norwalk, CT); big
sisters, Sheree A. Hill (Breyer, FL) and Diana L. Pearson (Schenectady,
NY); grandchildren: Vanya, Terrence and Tyantae; aunts, uncles, nieces and
nephews, and a host of loving, admiring friends and acquaintances. Calling
hour is 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. today, December 10, 2011 at Ebenezer Baptist
Church, 76 First Street, Newburgh NY. Services are at 11 a.m. at the
church. Reverend Dr. Michael Hawkins of the Greater Bridgeport Christian
Fellowship Church, Bridgeport, CT will officiate. Cremation will be at the
convenience of the family. Professional services entrusted to Rhodes
Funeral Homes, 259 Walsh Avenue, New Windsor, NY 12553. "Committed To
Being The Very Best." Call us anytime at 845-569-1233.
