Christianson, Thomas - Tommy passed in obscurity unfortunately. I
never knew until many years later and it was shortly after he had been to
my house visiting Karen Kuhn upon one of her trips up from Florida. We had
grown up together and it was a sad thing to find out that he had died in
such a manner in 1998. Tommy, rest assured as you sleep in death, you are
remembered and will be healthier and happier when resurrected. All such
pains will have been erased. Tom was born Jan. 2, 1964 and died about
Jan, 6, 2000. Tom lived in Vails Gate with his mother and brother Michael
in the family home... Tom's father, Chris, predeceased him.

I remember Vicky well. She was always ready with a smile and nice to me
during troubled times. I ran into her again many years after graduation
and she was the same sweet girl I remembered then. If anything, she was
more so. I was stunned and saddened to hear she passed. She is greatly
missed.

RECORD ARTICLE - Mount Hope - Gene Lawrence died on his motorcycle on an
open road, with blood from the beginnings of a tattoo of his wife, Holly,
still drying on his arm. The tattoo was to be of Holly as an angel with a
pink ribbon around her neck, signifying her defeat of cancer. Gene was
there beside her, praying, crying and then rejoicing when she finally beat
the disease. He was on his way home to Middletown Thursday night to show
her the tattoo, a present he had kept secret for half a year so he could
save enough money to get it done. Police say a Dodge Caravan driven by
Richard Woeckener, 42, of Slate Hill, was going west on Route 211 near
Tally Ho Road when it failed to yield the right of way and turned in front
of Lawrence. Lawrence's Harley-Davidson, which was going east, slammed
into the rear sliding door of the van. He was pronounced dead at the
scene, police said. A passenger in Woeckener's vehicle, Danielle Williams,
34, of Howells, suffered minor injuries. Gene, 42, and Holly, 41, met at
Orange County Community College. She was from Middletown. He was a
wrestler and football player from Newburgh Free Academy. They were 19 and
in love. They married and had their first child, Jordan, 21, and then
Taylor, 18. They took in foster children - too many to count over the
years - but mostly teens, the tougher ones to handle. Gene worked as a
computer support specialist at Pine Bush School District and coached
Little League and basketball. Holly worked as a school administrator in
the Middletown School District. After 20 years of marriage, they still
held hands and talked. They were best friends. Their greatest joy together
was riding their motorcycles. "If you could imagine a couple that was in
love, this was it," said Jeff McAvoy, safety officer for the Wurtsboro
Harley Owners Group, or HOGs, the bikers' group Gene and Holly belonged
to. They bought their second Harley-Davidson a year and a half ago, before
Holly got sick. In Holly's words, Gene "was her rock," said Matt Lawrence,
Gene's brother. He was there for her when she lost her hair, when she
broke down, when her faith in God wavered, until her cancer went into
remission and spring came. Life started again. Then Holly fell and cracked
her vertebrae. The couple put off riding. Instead, they helped organize
rides with HOGs to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital,
which searches for cancer cures for kids. And then another spring, and
riding weather arrived. A tattoo artist at The Shop in Port Jervis worked
on the tattoo for two hours. The outline of the female figure took up
Gene's upper right arm, the angel wings folded over his shoulder. He kept
the tattoo covered under his denim jacket while riding home, waiting for
the moment he could reveal it to the woman he had spent his life loving.
